About Us
Oak Tree Day Nursery is an Ofsted registered private day nursery situated in Streatham Hill, London. The nursery was established in April 2003, originally a neighbourhood initiative nursery offering 27 places. The nursery expanded to 61 places in 2009. The nursery occupies a large detached house with a large garden which offers the children plenty of opportunity for exploration, play and learning. The garden is divided into two sections; one with an impact resistant surface where we have our adventure playground equipment and the other, a natural surface with bark where we have pots for planting vegetables and fruits and also the mud kitchen.
We care for babies, toddlers and pre-school children between the ages of 3 months and five years. We follow the EYFS curriculum and offer the following extracurricular activities: French, Music, Yoga and Fun sports at no extra cost to fee paying children. We are open 50 weeks of the year; we are closed for one week in August during the summer holiday and one week at Christmas during the Christmas holiday. We publish our closure dates two years in advance.
The nursery is led by a management team consisting of the proprietor, Sadé Okocha, the manager, Hina Rehman and the deputy managers, Fabiola Heitz and Shpresa Istrefi. Sadé Okocha, Hina Rehman and Fabiola Heitz are educated to Master’s degree level and also hold qualifications in Childcare and Education. Shpresa Istrefi holds an NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education. They all have a wealth of experience in childcare. In addition, Sadé has attained the EYPS (Early Years Professional Status), Hina and Fabiola have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education).
The management is supported by other members of staff with qualifications ranging from Bachelors degree in Early Years Education to NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Childcare and Education and most with several years of childcare experience.
